The inspiration for this distinctive Air Max 180 is an illustration from legendary Welsh artist Ralph Steadman, who contributed to Nike’s 1991 advertising campaign for the Air Max 180. The Swoosh recognized Steadman and two other artists from that original marketing blitz through a pack of special-edition Air Max 180 colorways for Air Max Day 2018. This pair, featuring a shaggy suede upper, reflects Steadman’s take on the hare from Aesop’s Fables. The release was available exclusively to NikePlus members in North America, who had the option to customize three characters under the heel Swoosh.
